does Lipton Green Tea Citrus provide all the health benefits of regular hot green tea?
Hot green tea is better. While both types of teas probably contain roughly the same amount of antioxidants and the like, the Lipton tea contains far too much sugar. The sugar also adds “empty” calories. So, if I had to choose between the two I’d take the hot tea.
Does drinking green tea really have as many health benefits as they claim it does?
It seems a little too good to be true…
It gives me headache.

green tea?
Hi, how does green tea benifit your health?
The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.
Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function
What makes green tea so special?
The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.
Links are being made between the effects of drinking green tea and the "French Paradox." For years, researchers were puzzled by the fact that, despite consuming a diet rich in fat, the French have a lower incidence of heart disease than Americans. The answer was found to lie in red wine, which contains resveratrol, a polyphenol that limits the negative effects of smoking and a fatty diet. In a 1997 study, researchers from the University of Kansas determined that EGCG is twice as powerful as resveratrol, which may explain why the rate of heart disease among Japanese men is quite low, even though approximately seventy-five percent are smokers.
Why don’t other Chinese teas have similar health-giving properties? Green, oolong, and black teas all come from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. What sets green tea apart is the way it is processed. Green tea leaves are steamed, which prevents the EGCG compound from being oxidized. By contrast, black and oolong tea leaves are made from fermented leaves, which results in the EGCG being converted into other compounds that are not nearly as effective in preventing and fighting various diseases.
Other Benefits
New evidence is emerging that green tea can even help dieters. In November, 1999, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.
Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque. Meanwhile, skin preparations containing green tea - from deodorants to creams - are starting to appear on the market.
Harmful Effects?
To date, the only negative side effect reported from drinking green tea is insomnia due to the fact that it contains caffeine. However, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee: there are approximately thirty to sixty mg. of caffeine in six - eight ounces of tea, compared to over one-hundred mg. in eight ounces of coffee.
benefits of green tea?
I have heard you can buy green tea capsules to help lose weight by raising the metabolic rate. I would prefer to just drink the tea.
What are the health benefits of green tea and do other herbal teas have the same effect. Also is it actually going to work or shallI just stick to my normal (maybe excessive) tea drinking habits
I wanted to let you know that green tea is real tea, not herbal tea. It has not been fermented like black tea, and retains more antioxidants. While it is good for you in many ways, my favorite is that it stabilizes blood sugar. I can barely stand sweets of any kind when I drink it regularly. It is great for your immune system (It keeps my psoriasis cleared up after many years of trying every treatment available with no results). It prevents cavities, fights cancer, and will give you an edge in losing weight, although it won’t cause the pounds to fall off by itself. I’ve never tried the capsules because I love drinking the tea. Don’t buy the decaffeinated kind, though, unless you must. It tastes awful to me. One more thing–brew your own. I doubt that the stuff in bottles will benefit you much, and probably has too much sugar.
How much green tea do I need to drink to receive all the health benefits?
I have recently started drinking green tea daily because I read it was an excellent way to boost your metabolism; however, I haven’t been able to find anywhere how much green tea I really need to drink to receive all the benefits.
Can someone help me???
3-4 servings after that metabolism benifit are wasted
What is the name of that Chinese weight loss herbal tea?
It comes in powder form and it available for sale online in a bunch of different flavors. Anyone able to help out there?
I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
how many cups of green tea should you drink in one sitting for max health benefits?
If i drink 2 cups of tea as opposed to 1 will my body get too many antioxidants to handle at one time? Will my body start to excrete them unused? Or will they all be used before they are excreted?
They say 4-6 cups per day, so you want to spread it out. Maybe one with each meal and some with coffee breaks or snacks. If you drink a lot at once you’ll just pee it out.
Looking for a green and white tea, please if you can help?

what are the health benefits of green tea?
Green Tea is a product that has been growing in popularity for a couple years now. Typical of ancient herbs from the Chinese culture, Green Tea is loaded with healthy nutrients like antioxidants that will give you energy, assist with weight loss, and fight a number of diseases.
Now we have an even better product called Enhanced Green Tea. Just 1 serving of Enhanced Green Tea contains as much nutrients as 1 gallon of brewed green tea.
Studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat. One study confirmed that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in overweight and moderately obese individuals. Some researchers speculate that substances in green tea known as polyphenols, specifically the catechins, are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect.
The benefits of green tea are numerous. In fact, if you were to go to PubMed.com and do a search for green tea, you’d find over 2,000 studies performed on green tea and its components (eg, EGCG, theanine, vitamin E, etc…).
Possible benefits are being investigated for weight loss, cancer prevention, antioxidant activity, cognitive enhancement, general good health and well being… and the list goes on and on.
You can order a free trial of Enhanced Green Tea from the source link below. So far all I’ve heard is that the Enhanced Green Tea supplement is helping people to feel great. It provides more energy and antioxidants than you would normally get from drinking cups of tea all day.
