Green Tea Information That Might Benefit Your Health
Rated as the second highest drink consumed worldwide behind water, tea has been around since the Chinese discovered the process of brewing tea leaves over 4,000 years ago. They themselves realized some of its health related properties which are now being increasingly verified by scientific researchers today.

This article will briefly look at and discuss just a little of the green tea information that’s out there and the associated health claims. One such claim is that green tea can help those of us who are trying to lose weight. No one is saying drink green tea and you will lose weight as things are not as simple as that. Good medical advice and proper guidance must be obtained whenever any of us consider embarking on a diet plan.Â
Â
What green tea is supposed to do is to increase our bodies metabolic rate. This is how fast we burn those calories we get from our daily diet and by drinking green tea this rate increases. This result is achieved through its antioxidant properties and is sometimes referred to as fat oxidization. Certain controlled studies have backed up such claims bit it’s important to add that following a healthy and sensible diet, plus a degree of exercise are far more important.
Â
What I also discovered when looking at green tea information was its use with acne sufferers as its not an uncommon condition also these days. By applying it to the skin its soothing, healing and exfoliation properties have been found to make a difference. One way to do this I found out is to make a green tea ’soother’ from freshly-brewed, quality green tea made with mineral or spring water. Once boiled, the tea is left for about 20 minutes before being transfered into another container for cooling down. Once cool enough to the touch it’s then dabbed onto the acne blemished areas.
Â
One other surprising thing I found was that I could get green tea extracts already within a nutritional supplement, which made certain I was getting the associated health benefits without having to brew several cups of water a day. For those of you who prefer this route make sure you choose a quality made, naturally derived product with enteric coating.

Does iced green tea have same health benefits as hot green tea?
Do the health benefits of green tea change if I chose to make iced green tea? I’d like to start drinking homemade iced green tea with lemon (no sugar) more often.
Iced drinks make your body work harder, because it has to restore the body temperature back to normal range, in addition to digesting whatever you have consumed. Therefore it is best to consume green tea at close to body temperature, if you want to have the optimum health benefit. Iced green tea is a refreshing drink on it’s own, but shouldn’t be combined with food.
Also after having food it is not advisable to drink iced drink. This is because when taking icy drink with food it will solidify the oil staff in the blood vessel. It is best to take warm water after food or the warm tea.
