    It could be the …
It could be the amount of matcha you are using. Or the quality of the matcha. I use matcha bought from Birdpick and I usually use around 1-2 tea spoons per cup of water and it tastes great!

hey guys, I need some help. I’ve just started learning to prepare matcha but I always end up with a tea that just tastes like lukewarm grassy water. The tea I use is Maeda-en shiki matcha. I don’t know if I’m using too much water or if my water is too cold or if I’m whisking it too much so that too much heat is lost…but the finished product always has very little tea taste. I’ve tasted match made by others before and it doesn’t taste like that. any ideas?

Oh, and don’t be fooled by the container’s small size, either. There’s 18 cups worth of green tea in them.

Thanks for posting. I’m gonna try this and this was a very helpful in learning how to make it. I always drink Chinese green tea infused with jasmine, but I heard matcha is more better than green tea (beneficial-wise).

    Normal grocery …
Normal grocery stores probably don’t sell high-quality matcha, if any. TeaGschwender in Chicago and Algonquin, IL and TeaHaus in Ann Arbor, MI are two places that sell top-grade matcha. Also look online, but you’d have to do research to find quality tea.
